The company's strategy targets flexible technology, highly qualified employees, highly effective customer service, top design standards and operative delivery terms. The main assortment is composed of handkerchiefs, shirting fabrics, table linen and bed linen. A special emphasis has always been given to the production of brocade, damask as well as batiste with satin checks for the African and Arabian markets, as well as to the production of jacquard handkerchiefs for Japan.

After the acquisition of the former largest German textile-group ERBA Erlangen, the original ERBA ITALIA shirting collection has been produced and distributed exclusively by Mileta. The collection includes the famous brand COTTONOVA for non-iron cotton fabrics.

History

The textile production of the entire Krkonos area has a rich tradition. The oldest privilege dates back to 1545 when the first products were brought out by Nünberg merchants and later on mainly by English and Dutch merchants who supplied the entire Europe. At the beginning of the 18th century the textile industry comprised almost 1/3 of the entire country's exports and contributed to the country's high active balance. In the 50's, the first two mechanized weaving mills were founded thus collaborating with the home production.

In 1912 there were already 6 textile mills in Krkonos. MILETA was founded in March 1949 when all private local textile mills were reorganized. The name MILETA came from the antique town Miletos (Miles), well known for its top quality textile manufacturing and business activity. MILETA went through several reorganizations the most important being the foundation of the handkerchief factory in 1958.

Responding to the development and changing trends of the world market in the 80's and 90's Mileta decreased the handkerchief production in favor of other alternative cotton products, qualitatively and characteristically related to the handkerchief production such as fine batistes, kerchiefs, shirting, bed linen, table linen and napkins. Though the production of handkerchiefs still represented a significant part of the fundamental program the production of the new articles became important as well.
